Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP)

ICDS

Food supplementation to pregnant women as per norm Take home rations provided twice a month

- Rs. 5 per beneficiary per day

- 600 calories per beneficiary per day

- 18-20 grams of proteins per beneficiary per day

IFA tablets course to be distributed to all Pregnant Women

Counselling with regard to certain key services such as ante-natal care, iron-folic acid supplementation and improved care during pregnancy, timely Immunisation etc.

For Pregnant Women SNP is given as Take-home ration

Tetanus Toxoid (TT) is given to Pregnant Women as per following schedule

1st dose – as early as possible after pregnancy

2nd dose – one month after 1st dose

Booster dose- in subsequent pregnancy, if TT vaccine has been taken within last 3 years

Health Check-up

ICDS

Ante-natal pregnant women check-up is done by ANM at home of pregnant woman. For ante-natal care, it is envisaged that for every pregnant woman

- 3 antenatal check-ups during pregnancy where complete physical examination is done

- IFA supplementation ( 100 IFA tablets are given, one to be eaten for 100 days)

- Mother-Child Health card is given to beneficiary to record ante-natal care provided

- Information on care, diet and rest during pregnancy and care of the new born is given

Nutrition and Health Education

Two Mothers’ Meeting to be conducted in a month by AWW in the afternoon

A minimum of one health education camp/ meeting held by the health department per village per month in the afternoon

Health & Referral Services

ICDS

To provide health services to women in need of special medical care, referral slips are provided in each Anganwadi Centre to PHC or CHC.

Beneficiaries with referral slips are to be attended to on priority at health centre
