Support for children in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection

Implementa tion of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 and Amendment Act, 2006

Children are provided with accomadation, food, clothing, education,skill development training, medical facilities, counselling, recreational facilities etc. 8 Observation Homes , 17 Children homes for girls, and 26 Children homes for boys.

2 homes for mentally retarded boys and 2 homes for mentally retarded girls and 1 Shishu Mandir are functioning in the state

Observation Homes

 Juvenile Justice Act, 2000 and Amendment Axt, 2006

 
Children are provided with accommodation, food, clothing, nonformal education, skill development training, medical facilities, counselling, recreational facilities etc.

29 Observation Homes have been sanctioned in the state.

8 Observation Homes are functioning at Bangalore (U), Dharwad, Gulbarga, Mysore, Shimoga, Bellary, Bijapur and Mangalore.

Remaining 21 homes are yet to be started

Voluntary organisations are provided grants at the rate of Rs.500/- per child per month towards maintenance

37 fit institutions are fun tioning, 10 fit institutions are provided with financial assistance
