Services for Children With Special Needs (HIV/AIDS):
This programme is being implemented from March 2010 for the care and support of children who have lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS (orphans), and are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Eventhough, measures have been taken for the care and treatment of these children through various programmes, still there is a need to fill the gap in taking care of such children. KSICPS is coordinating with other convergent departments like Education, Health, Social Welfare, Backward Classes, and Minorities, RDPR, Transport, Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society and Karnataka Health Promotion Trust to provide benefits under this programme. An amount of Rs.2.00 crores is earmarked for implementation of this programme and an amount of Rs. 194.62 lakhs is sanctioned till March 2013 and 7837 chidren are identified under this programme.
